VISION & BELIEFS
God has revealed objective truth. We do not create truth; we receive it and respond to it. We believe Scripture is inspired by God, true in what it teaches, trustworthy in all it affirms, and the final authority for Christian faith and practice.
Veritas seeks faithfulness to Scripture's meaning through careful reading, historical context, and the witness of the Church across time. Where God's revelation is clear, we say so plainly. Where Christians have disagreed in good faith, we describe the major views so you can weigh them carefully before God, with Scripture open.
We believe Scripture is inspired by God, true in what it teaches, trustworthy in all it affirms, and the final authority for Christian faith and practice. The Bible is:
Inspired: Breathed out by God (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
True and Trustworthy: Reliable in all it affirms
Sufficient: Everything needed for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3-4)
Clear: What's essential is understandable to ordinary readers
Authoritative: The final court of appeal for faith and practice
We pursue Scripture's intended meaning by attending to:
Historical Context: What did it mean to the original audience?
Literary Context: Genre, structure, and flow of argument
Grammatical Analysis: Words, syntax, and semantics
Canonical Context: How does this fit in the whole Bible's story?
Theological Synthesis: Comparing Scripture with Scripture
Church History: Learning from faithful interpreters across centuries
We will hold Scripture as the final authority, read in relationship with tradition, reason, and experience
We will acknowledge uncertainty where it exists
We will present multiple views when faithful Christians disagree
We will cite sources so you can verify our claims
We will point you back to your local church and pastoral leadership
Veritas is a study companion — not a substitute for your pastor, church, or the Holy Spirit's work in your life. We exist to help you know God's Word more deeply so you can love Him more fully and serve Him more faithfully.
May God bless your study of His Word as you seek to be equipped for every good work (2 Timothy 3:17).
